Who Will Run The Business?
Entrepreneurs work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours a week – Lori Greiner

You did it! You decided to take your financial future into your own hands. You started a business and it is growing. Congratulations! That is one heck of an accomplishment. There is definitely a  reason to celebrate, but in a small business, sometimes it is hard to find the time.

Having your own company is a lot like having a baby. You have to nurture it and protect it. At times it will be a source of tremendous joy; at times, it will keep you up all night kicking and screaming. You have reached that point where you are over the hump and want to plan a quick and well-deserved getaway, but who is gonna watch the kid?

That’s exactly what Deborah wanted to know

How does everyone get away to take a little vacation? We are small, just my husband and myself so no employees to pick up the slack. I just want a couple of days but can’t figure out how to keep the customers happy and the pools clean. Any ideas?? – Deborah

  1. Finding time to vacation is hard especially for vibes business owners. I would suggest to do day trips which are really amazing mini-getaways! As a college student who is sooo busy, day trips have literally saved my sanitity. I’d also suggest going on a 2-3 day vacation around the time when your business is usually the slowest. This might take some planning and analyzing, so be sure to pick the best, least-busiest time for you and your business!

  2. Having some time off is a huge must, everyone needs some time to recharge so thought it may seem hard taking the time off is needed.

  3. Everyone wants to run their own business because they think it is easy since you get to be your own boss. In actuality, it takes a lotmore work because it is YOUR Business. Part of sustaining that business though is keeping yourself healthy and sane with time for yourself.

  4. If you are just getting started, it’s really hard to find the time to enjoy a couple of days (or hopefully weeks) of vacation. But hopefully, as business picks up, it becomes more feasible.

  5. What an interesting idea to have people choose the best advice. I choose the take the fifth week off because there is a good number of fifth weeks! I like block vacations then random one day vacations.

  6. I took a break this summer for my son so that we could bond. I don’t feel like taking a break myself. I love the follow the routine. Although people advise in taking a break

  7. Husband and Wife team here. We schedule 4 days a week for customers. Friday is part paperwork and part wind down. All our customers wish they could do it too, and understand. If we have a cancellation, we take the day for a mini vaca. I am always planning and looking for fun thing to do . We work hard at taking the time, and our business continues to grow. It can be done. LOVE THE 5th WEEK off… .gonna start planning a longer vaca for those! Thanks everyone
